The Senate recognises that corruption remains a major problem in Nigeria. This poses severe problems on the country’s development. The Committees of the Senate will be supported to use the legislative powers of oversight to scrutinise government actions and expenditure and hold public officials and institutions to account. Agencies
responsible for tackling corruption will be strengthened to deliver on citizens’ expectations.
