    As ast April, 2025, the National Transport Policy has not been finalized. The 10th House of Representatives' Committee on Transportation has been actively involved in legislative and oversight functions to support the development and implementation of this policy. This include: 1. egislative Oversight and Support: The Committee has conducted oversight functions to monitor and facilitate the progress of the National Transport Policy. 2. Budgetary Allocations and Approvals: The Committee has played a role in reviewing and approving budgetary allocations related to transportation infrastructure and policy development, ensuring that necessary funds are allocated for the finalization and implementation of the National Transport Policy.

    The 10th Nigerian House of Representatives has allocated significant funds for constructing, maintaining, and upgrading national transport infrastructure in the 2025 budget. The approved budget made provision in 2023 for tranport and rail was 147.49 and 92.63 billion respectively; while in 2025 the House approved 700 billion and 41.49 billion naira for tranport infrastructure and rail respectively.

    Encourage the development of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, light rail, and other mass transit initiatives . Specifically, the House will support the Executive’s commitment to LNG and CNG-powered mass transit buses .

Some examples of this include: Reconstruction of Roads in Ideato North/South Federal Constituency, Imo State: Sponsor: Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Details: Hon. Ugochinyere sponsored a motion titled ""Urgent Need To Proffer A Lasting Solution To The Devastating Gully Erosion/Total Road Collapse In Isiekenesi, Urualla, Obodukwu, Umueshi, Amanator, Arondizuogu, Akokwa And Other Villages And Communities In Ideato North/South Federal Constituency Of Imo State."" This motion highlights the critical need for road reconstruction in these rural communities to facilitate better connectivity and economic activities. 2. Rehabilitation of Oju–Otukpo–Oweto and Oju–Adum–Okuku Roads in Benue State: Sponsor: Hon. David Ogewu Details: Hon.
