  The 10th Senate of Nigeria has taken some legislative actions that aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector to enhance economic growth, food security: Notable legislative actions aside the allocation and approval of annual budget include the introduction and deliberation of: 1. The Senate also passed for Second reading a Bill for an Act to Establish the National Rice Development Council of Nigeria to provide guidance on the Rice Research, comprehensive development of the rice sector and the organization of the rice Stakeholders to enhance the local production of rice in Nigeria and for related matters, 2025 (SB. 541).
